LAHORE: Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid has decided to resign in the wake of the government failing to dispers
e the Faizabad protesters, who are calling for his ouster over a hastily-abandoned amendment to the election candidates’ oath.

e the former said he was ready to resign for the sake of bringing the ongoing crisis to an end.
It was decided at the meeting that the law ministe
r would tender his resignation to the prime minister within the next 24 hours.
Law Minister Zahid Hamid on Sunday released a video message on social media to assur
e the people that he believes in the finality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a day after his family house was attacked in Punjab.
In the video the law minister read out the oath that election candidates must take under the C
onstitution.
After reading the oath, the minister said: “This is the oath t
hat is part of the law. And you all know that C
onstitution of Pakistan declares Qadianis, Ahmadi Group and Lahori Group as non-Muslims.

ther want to say I love Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) from the depth of my heart.
I am an Ashiq-e-Rasool and my family and I are prepared to lay down our lives for the honor and sanctity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”
The government has dropped a hint that the resignation of the law minister can be accepted soon.
